“Nobody Is Pointing the Finger at Tom Brady”- Mike Evans Defends Brady After Three Straight Losses for the Buccaneers

At the end of the 2021 season, Tom Brady stated that he would be retiring from professional football. However, that retirement did not last very long as Brady revealed his plans to step back into action just 40 days after his retirement announcement. Unfortunately for Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, things have not played out how either party would have envisaged it.

The Buccaneers have consistently struggled to put points on the board, and the most recent example of the same was their 27-22 loss against the Baltimore Ravens. This now puts their record at a worrying 3-5 for this season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have failed to win a game since game week five of this season and this is the first time in over two decades that Brady has lost three games on the trot.

After the game, wide receiver Mike Evans came to the rescue of his teammate and quarterback Tom Brady. He said, “He’s the best to ever do it. I mean, he hates losing. That’s all he knows is winning and being 3-5 is not good enough. So we’ve got to turn it around and soon. Nobody is pointing the finger at Tom Brady. It’s the whole team. It’s a team game.”

Against the Ravens, the offense was not the only culprit for the loss. The defense gave up 231 rushing yards on Thursday night and a special teams’ blunder handed the Ravens their first points of the night.

The season started off on a good note for the Bucs after an opening day 19-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Ever since then, the Bucs have had topsy-turvy results and have not been able to secure two consecutive wins this season.

Reports revealed that after the loss, Tom Brady sat in the locker room and stared at the wall ahead of him for a while before he headed to the press conference. A dejected Brady did not have an answer at the tip of his tongue but did say that “we’re going to try to figure out everything”.
