Nick Foles Trade Rumors: Will He Join The Indianapolis Colts?

Nick Foles trade rumors skyrocketed after Carson Wentz injury.

Nick Foles is the Chicago Bears‘ third-string quarterback. He is also known as one of the NFL‘s all-time great journeymen. We already know that there are possibilities that the Chicago Bears will trade Foles this season. The reason being Andy Dalton and Justin Fields. Nick Foles trade rumors had been there for months but the sudden injury of Carson Wentz ignited them. A lot of analysts and players believe that this is the right time for trading Nick Foles and the destination would be Indianapolis Colts.

 

 

Nick Foles has a history with Carson Wentz. It was back in 2017 when Wentz was with Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Foles replaced injured Wentz in Eagles in 2017 and the same year turned out to be a Super Bowl for them. One more thing to notice here is that Frank Reich was also there with the Eagles as an offensive coordinator at that time. It looks like the current situation of the Indianapolis Colts is somewhat similar to that of the Eagles in 2017. Carson Wentz is injured and out for around five to twelve weeks and Frank Reich is the head coach of the Colts.

 

 

How Nick Foles reacted to the rumors?

Nick Foles looks excited to grab the opportunity. I think he already made up his mind that he wants to go with the Colts. I mean he already showed his intentions by responding to the Nick Foles trade rumors. All he wants with his trade destination is to have major input. Also, with Wentz out, he will get the same in the Colts.

 

 

Nick Foles said that “Frank Reich is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, coaches of all time.” “He understands me as a player. He understands me as a person. I haven’t had any talks with them. I’m a Chicago Bears right now.”

That’s what Nick Foles said about Frank Reich and his time with Bears. However, we all understood that it is an indication. Foles is ready and willing to join the Colts. He also stressed the point that he is better than before. After 2017 his game has been improved and now we will have a much more experienced player.

Nick Foles further stated that “You all watched the 2017 season and the playoffs, where Reich changed the offense and built it around me, and we saw what happened.”

Over a period of time, we have witnessed various NFL trade rumors. Especially when the trade concerns Chicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles. The main reason behind the Foles trade rumor is the fact that the Bears have no reason to pay $6.6 million to a third-string. Foles had 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in his last season with the Chicago Bears. However, with Dalton on the team, Foles will not get what he is looking for. Therefore, a trade is the only option left with the team and also it would be beneficial for Foles.

 

 

Apart from the Colts, New York Jets is also a potential destination for the veteran. The New York Jets will use Nick Foles as they don’t have any QB with NFL starting experience. Apart from the rookie quarterback, Zach Wilson, there is no subtle and experienced quarterback. Tennessee Titans are one more name that popped up in rumors. Titans will be looking out for an experienced QB and Foles can be the man for them. However, I still believe that Indianapolis Colts is the final destination for Foles because of the mutual benefits.
