NFL 2022 QB Ratings After Week 3: Tua Tagovailoa Leads the Pack, Baker Mayfield Ranked 32
Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season saw several games in the early going come down to the last frame once more. After week 3, the QB Ratings have been revised.
In an NFL where a strong pass rush has been the catalyst for every previous Super Bowl run, quarterbacks have it tough everywhere. However, Week 3 was marred by injuries to Jameis Winston, Justin Herbert, Tom Brady, and Tua Tagovailoa.
By the fourth quarter, Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami receivers’ pace had finally worn down the Bills’ defense, and the Dolphins took the lead on a hookup to Jaylen Waddle on third-and-22. After the third week of NFL 2022, he is the QB with the highest QB ratings.

What are QB Ratings in the NFL?
For the following reasons, the NFL, first standardised the current system for ranking NFL quarterbacks in 1973. According to NFL.com, an NFL QB rating is determined by adding the following four categories:
- Percentage of completions per attempt
- Average yards gained per attempt
- Percentage of touchdown passes per attempt
- Percentage of interceptions per attempt

Some believed that Baker Mayfield’s 2022 would be the year of the vengeance tour due to the offseason to recover and the new beginning in Carolina. For the former first-overall selection, that hasn’t been the case through three games. In fact, Baker now holds the lowest QBR among NFL starting quarterbacks three weeks into the season.
