Mother of Coincidence as LeBron James and Kevin Durant Haven’t Played Against Each Other in Three Years

The truth is that LeBron James and Kevin Durant haven’t played against one another on an NBA floor in more than three years, despite the fact that one would assume they would have been accustomed to doing so over the years. The Los Angeles Lakers are likely to be in “win now” mode for the foreseeable future—as they have undoubtedly been for the past two weeks or so.

After dropping their previous four games, they will attempt to begin their ascent back up the standings on Sunday night against the Brooklyn Nets in a showdown between two groups who have dominated headlines this season for all the wrong reasons. This game would feature LeBron James and Kevin Durant for the first time in three years.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant to face each other in three years

When the two were engaged in a struggle for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, it feels like yesterday. One of their final games against one another occurred in the 2018 NBA Finals. They have not shared a court together since 2018.

The primary cause is harm. Remember that KD missed a lot of time due to an Achilles injury. Just have a look at the list of games and the explanation for why you missed them. The NBA’s two most favored clubs this year are likely the Lakers and the Nets. Since many predicted LeBron James and KD would both face off in the 2022 NBA Finals during the 2021 summer, they have most likely been that way for even longer.

Since that summer, almost everything for both organizations has gone wrong, with some of those disasters being beyond their control, but with the majority of them occurring in ways that were self-inflicted.
