Los Angeles Rams’ Cam Akers RB: NFL Fantasy Data & Stats Speculations 2022

Player Outlook

The 2021 season for Cam Akers probably didn’t go as planned. Akers, who emerged late in 2020, had an ACL injury just before training camp last year, which prevented him from playing for the duration of the season. In Week 18, he made a spectacular comeback to the field and assisted the Rams in winning Super Bowl LVI.

Cam Akers showed his potential to be the starting running back of the future for one of the best offenses in the league during the brief time that fantasy managers got to observe him in the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

Bye Week: 7

Fantasy PPR Ranking: 37.7

Fantasy Points: 219.16

When he burst for 171 yards on 29 rushes against the New England Patriots in 2020, Akers cemented his reputation. After that, he put on another incredible effort in the playoffs against the Seattle Seahawks, gaining 131 yards and a touchdown on 28 attempts. Akers became one of the most promising young running back prospects in the game in an instant.

Akers will likely spend this season attempting to establish himself as a top 10 running back. He has the capacity to do so, but the key will be improving his level of consistency, and Akers hasn’t been able to accomplish that in the NFL up to this point.

Akers is more desirable in Dynasty leagues because he will just be 23 years old when the season begins, but in that format as well, he is still best rated as a mid-range No. 2 back.
