Los Angeles Clippers’ New Arena Intuit Dome Hits a New Milestone, Set to be Opened in Two Years
For the 2024–25 NBA Season, the Los Angeles Clippers are constructing their new arena. The Intuit Dome is expected to surpass all other entertainment venues in the nation in terms of technology. According to owner Steve Ballmer, it will likely open in a little more than two years. Construction on the almost $2 billion arena is going according to schedule.
On Thursday afternoon, the main concourse of the arena’s main lobby entrance, which will look out onto the center court and The Wall, was where LA Clippers Chairman Steve Ballmer, LA Clippers President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker, and Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts gave an update on the building of the Intuit Dome.

Ballmer recognized the completion of the steel and concrete frame for the new arena’s 18,000 seats as a significant development. Ballmer claimed that the approximately $2 billion Intuit Dome, which will include a scoreboard that is four times the size of most NBA scoreboards, will be ready for use by the 2024–2025 season. Construction on the center court is now underway.
“I am incredibly excited about the building that we are building,” Ballmer said.
“For me, it has got to be a lot of things: we want the comfort and convenience of home, but the energy, excitement, and enthusiasm of being able to smell the leather on the ball as it’s moving around the court.”

The concrete frame for the Intuit Dome is fully finished. 18,000 spectators are expected to fill the facility during basketball games. The arena may accommodate 100 to 150 concerts, business conferences, and similar events annually in addition to basketball games.
