Lane Kiffin’s girlfriend teases him as March Madness ‘jinx’ for picking Grand Canyon

There have undoubtedly been nicer Sundays for Lane Kiffin.

With his girlfriend Sally Rychlak adding salt to the wound, the 48-year-old Ole Miss football coach finished his weekend by witnessing his NCAA Tournament bracket get largely destroyed by Alabama’s victory against Grand Canyon, ranked eleventh.

Initially, Kiffin projected that No. 4 Alabama and Grand Canyon would face off in the Round of 32. He proudly displayed a picture of his bracket on X, which showed the Antelopes going to the Sweet 16 and facing the top seed, North Carolina.

“Grand Canyon Baby!!” Kiffin shouted to his supporters on Sunday.

Sadly for Kiffin, Grand Canyon fell to Alabama 72-61 in a thrilling March Madness game, and Rychlak joked that the college football coach was to blame.

She wrote, “Way to jinx it,” on X on Sunday.

North Carolina and Alabama play on Thursday.

At least Kiffin can still rely on one of his previous institutions.

In response to the query, “Where you for Tennessee going?” from X users “Final 4,” was Kiffin’s response.

No. 2 Tennessee defeated seventh-seeded University of Texas 62-58 to narrowly avoid elimination from the Round of 32.

The Volunteers’ next game is scheduled on Friday against Creighton, ranked third.

In 2009, Kiffin was the Tennessee coach. However, after a 7-6 season in his only year, he abruptly left to take a position at USC.

It’s unclear if Rychlak will be listening for any possible chirps in the event that Kiffin’s bracket suffers further losses this week.

According to Ryclak’s X page, the duo has been dating since at least February 2023. Kiffin shared a unique picture of the couple over the summer in observance of National Girlfriend Day.

In 2016, Lane Kiffin and his spouse Layla declared their divorce.

Three children, a male named Knox and two daughters named Landry and Presley, are shared by them.
