Kyrie Irving the Biggest Loser as Lakers Trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook ‘Express Commitment’

Another NBA trio is trying to make sure they don’t follow their failed “big three” experiment of Kyrie Irving, Durant, and Harden as they attempt to ship off the parts. In recent weeks, Westbrook’s name has been included in trade rumors as the Nets may be trying to sell Kyrie Irving, their unhappy point guard.

In addition to freeing Los Angeles from Westbrook’s expensive one-year contract, the agreement would bring back James and Irving, a former dominating duo. The Lakers’ greatest choice appears to be a squad sans Russ. Despite not having a high trade value, there is definitely increased interest in acquiring Kyrie Irving.

LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis

Even though the Lakers and their newly acquired Big 3 went into the 2021–22 season with championship hopes, they battled terribly and eventually missed the playoffs. Westbrook was primarily to blame for their underwhelming result since he had trouble maintaining a consistent level of play throughout the year.

Lakers’ front three united means Kyrie Irving will stay with the Nets

According to Yahoo Sports, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook allegedly got together to discuss how to avoid repeating last year’s poor campaign. At the beginning of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this year, the big three of the Los Angeles Lakers spoke on the phone, pledging their shared loyalty to the group and desire to right the ship, according to the report.

Before becoming an unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2023, Westbrook will receive $47 million for the 2022–2023 season. Westbrook’s name has often come up in trade rumors, particularly in relation to a possible exchange for Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.

That would mean Irving is likely to stay with the Nets. The Nets assembled the trio of Durant, Irving, and Harden in 2020, but the players played barely together. There’s a good chance that all three might not play with the Nets next season. Harden has already left while Durant has requested a trade. Irving might stay with the Lakers, continuing with their trio.
