Kylie Kelce’s perfect speech to silence Harrison Butker

Celebrities are giving commencement addresses at the nation’s best universities since it is graduation season in the United States. Harrison Butker’s attempt to address the grownups of tomorrow hasn’t gone very well, but Kylie Kelce showed that it is possible to give a speech that is flawless.

The wife of former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, Kylie, made an appearance this past weekend at Cabrini University in Pennsylvania to give a commencement speech to the last graduating class before the school closes forever. The adjacent Villanova University will purchase the university’s real estate.

When Kylie returned to her former school, where she had played women’s field hockey and received a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2017, it was an emotional moment for her.

But when she addressed the graduating class of 2024, she kept it light and breezy, cracking several jokes in her well-received speech.

“My husband, Jason Kelce, is known for giving some pretty earth-shattering speeches. He did not help me with writing my words today, so lower those expectations,” Kylie said.

“I soon became the 21-year-old freshman transfer,” she added. “Switching my major and transferring schools are the prime example of figuring out as you go … and inevitable uncertainty probably won’t end after college.

“Everyone’s first question after graduation is what’s next. ‘I don’t know’ can be an honest and sufficient answer. The truth is that no one has their lives completely figured out, and if someone tells you otherwise, they are lying.”

Harrison Butker fails to make the field goal

Butker has been under fire for remarks he made last week, despite the fact that Kelce’s address was as much full of well wishes and optimism as it was of true stories from her own life.

Speaking to Benedictine College students, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker has drawn criticism for comments he made that have been characterized as misogynistic, homophobic, and transphobic.

While denouncing his comments, the NFL indicated that since they were made in a “personal capacity,” they would not prosecute him.

If Butker doesn’t take back his comments, it might make for an unpleasant return to the summer workouts, considering how Travis Kelce’s sister-in-law has shown him.
