Born on February 18, 1993, in Thomson, Georgia, Caldwell-Pope began his basketball journey at Greenville High School, where he excelled as a shooting guard. He then went on to play college basketball at the University of Georgia, where he was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2012. Caldwell-Pope entered the NBA in 2013 after being drafted eighth overall by the Detroit Pistons.

He quickly established himself as one of the league’s top three-point shooters and a tenacious defender. In his four seasons with the Pistons, he became known for his consistency and reliability, playing in all but two games during that span.
