Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, also known as KCP, is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Denver Nuggets. Born on February 18, 1993, in Thomson, Georgia, Caldwell-Pope began his basketball journey at Greenville High School, where he excelled as a shooting guard. He then went on to play college basketball at the University of Georgia, where he was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2012. Caldwell-Pope entered the NBA in 2013 after being drafted eighth overall by the Detroit Pistons. 

He quickly established himself as one of the league’s top three-point shooters and a tenacious defender. In his four seasons with the Pistons, he became known for his consistency and reliability, playing in all but two games during that span. In 2017, Caldwell-Pope signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent. He continued to develop his game and became a key player in the Lakers’ championship run in the 2019-2020 season. 

He was instrumental in helping the team secure the title, averaging 10.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in the playoffs. After four years with the Lakers, KCP was traded to the Wizards in exchange for Russell Westbrook. After one season in Washington, KCP was traded once again, this time to the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets and Caldwell-Pope signed a two-year deal that will see him stay at the team till the next of next season.

‘KCP’ has one championship ring to his name when he won the NBA championship, along with the Los Angeles Lakers, in 2020.
