Justin Fields Trade: More Fumes Are Ignited As Rumor Says Teams Are Informed About The Trade

Breer reported that at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, Chicago’s employees received “inquiries” from rival clubs. Fields, 24, hasn’t been targeted by the Bears, but the front staff utilized the conversations to estimate his trade worth.

Fields, who was the No. 11 pick in 2021, may be moved since general manager Ryan Poles of Chicago has the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft of 2024 and there are numerous strong quarterback prospects available.

When some astute fans saw that Fields was no longer following Chicago’s official Instagram account, social media went crazy.

The 24-year-old Fields may not have been following the team at all, and if he was, it’s unclear when he stopped doing so.

Fields last posted a video of himself working out with Reebok on the social media network on February 9.

The Bears, who will choose first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, which will take place in Detroit on April 25–27, have been connected to quarterback Caleb Williams of USC.

Fields has been uneven in his first three seasons in the NFL, while playing behind an offensive line that has had pass protection issues for the entirety of his career. During his 2023 campaign, he made 13 starts and finished 61.4 percent of his passes for 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions.

Breer stated that the Bears will get together “over the next couple weeks” to finalize their intentions for the quarterback position. An announcement is anticipated following the start of the scouting combine on February 26 in Indianapolis. Chicago hasn’t formally decided what it will do under center, but it seems like the front office would be open to a change of scenery.

“But I think the reality, for Chicago, will be that the talent of [USC quarterback] Caleb Williams plus the chance to reset the quarterback-on-a-rookie-contract clock will be too much for Chicago to pass on,” Breer stated. “We’ll see.”
