Jets Teammates On QB Aaron Rodgers Comeback: “anything is possible”

The Jets accompany Aaron Rodgers as he sets out to pursue his once-impossible dream. They walk with Aaron Rodgers as they see his heroic endeavour, a month short of turning 40, to make it back into their 2023 huddle overall medical odds.

Jets Teammates On QB Aaron Rodgers Comeback: “anything is possible”

The Jets feel emboldened and inspired to believe that if Aaron Rodgers can be a Miracle Man, perhaps together they can be Miracle Men as they watch, wait, and marvel at the future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback who desperately wants, if not needs, a chance to chase his second Super Bowl championship with an Achilles torn less than two months ago.

The future Hall of Famer, who turns 40 on December 2, has recovered very well and is getting around without the use of crutches. Although wide receiver Garrett Wilson pointed out that Aaron Rodgers isn’t running just yet, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player is driven to dispel sceptics.

“It’s all about him wanting to prove to the world that you can’t put a time limit on anyone, you can’t tell anyone what they can do, and he has all our belief in this facility,” Wilson said of Rodgers. “Whenever he’s ready to come back, we’ll be ready to support him, whether it’s this season or a year from now, I don’t want anyone to rush him, I don’t want him to feel rushed.”

As the 4-3 Jets try to stay in the postseason picture as long as their Week 1 QB1 isn’t sidelined for the duration of the season, pass-rusher Bryce Huff said that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is inspiring others in the locker room to be the greatest versions of themselves.

“It’s really cool and it’s really motivational in the sense that guys aren’t supposed to be able to come back that quick from injuries, and his determination and his manifestation into his own self, his own process is really cool to see,” Huff said of Rodgers.

Regarding Rodgers maybe playing again this season, Jets cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner remarked in an interview with Steve Serby of the New York Post, “It makes everybody just feel like anything is possible.” “It makes everybody grind and motivates us to be able to have a guy like that on the team. I’m pretty sure it motivates the other guys who are injured because they probably think because he’s able to do that with the kind of injury that he had, they can do it as well.”

Quinton Jefferson told The Post, “It’s Kobe-esque.” “I know Kobe [Bryant] had the one year he tore his Achilles, everybody counted him out and he put that work and he came back, and that seems like he’s on the same trajectory, man. I just tip my hat off to him and see the work he’s putting in and just how inspirational and energizing that is.”

This week, head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas of the Jets were cautious to make no guarantees on when Rodgers will play significant snaps, be it later in the year or in 2024. Gardner expressed his preference for the Aaron Rodgers that was able to win elimination games in January.

Gardner went on to say, “I just want to make sure he’s good as a person.” “I know he’s gonna compete, I know he’s gonna make sure if he do come back, he’s that guy that we all know he is…I just want to make sure he’s good mentally going through all this stuff, just letting him know he’s not alone through all of this.”

Brown stated, “Every time I see him, he’s improving a little bit more.” “Obviously something we’ve never seen before. But I think he has the ultimate confidence as a competitor, and he’s made his mind up. It’s really inspiring. It’s kinda hard to put into words. I’m just looking forward to seeing his progress going forward. It’s a devastating injury, and to see him try to do something that hasn’t been done, especially a guy turning 40 soon, it’s incredible.”

“It’s very motivational, and I think it’s impacting our team positively,” D.J. Reed told The Post. “Every time he’s around us, I just feel like good stuff has been happening. I’m definitely proud of him the way he’s attacking his rehab — the mindset that A.R. has, he definitely wants to be back early.”

The general manager’s declaration that they now anticipate Rodgers to return and surpass expectations drove New York Jets supporters into a frenzy; after winning their last three games, the club has a strong chance of qualifying for the postseason.

The quarterback most recently updated the fans on The Pat McAfee’s Show following Week 6, when he made an appearance. Every Tuesday, he has been taking part in the program:

“It’s been more of a grind the last week or so, but a lot of good things were trending towards trying to get down to 100% walking normally. I invited Eli [Manning] last night to play a little catch with me, so maybe on Sunday, I plan on being back for our game as the road team at MetLife. I haven’t been on crutches since returning from the game on the 15th. But I don’t quite have the strength in my calf to be able to walk without limping.”

It is greater evidence to them that Aaron Rodgers loves the game and being a Jet again than he did before considering retirement when they watch him hurling warmup passes and hear him advocate for this comeback.

It’s not meant to be a critique of Zach Wilson in any way. Still, he was accepted as Rodgers’ backup. For Robert Saleh, Woody Johnson, and Joe Douglas, Rodgers was the lone missing component.

Even while they have visions of No. 8 spearheading a potential playoff drive, they are aware that there is no risk that is worth a reward.
