Jalen Hurts and the Eagles Move One Step Closer to Breaking a Franchise Record After a 7-0 Start to the Season

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are on fire right now. Seven games into the NFL season and Hurts and the Eagles are the only undefeated team in the league. They have absolutely demolished everyone that has been matched up against them and are strong contenders to go all the way in 2022.

However, this was not the case in the preseason. While most pundits did expect the Eagles to do well this season, no one expected them to be undefeated after seven game weeks. With each week that passes by, Jalen Hurts has proved more doubters wrong and established himself among the elite quarterbacks in the league.

With the win, the Eagles have now matched their best-ever start to a season in the history of their franchise, and next week they take on arguably the worst team in the league with a chance to break the record and go 8-0.

AJ Brown and Hurts have been a devastating combination from the very first week of the new season. However, the Eagles’ defense has been equally impressive with standout performers such as Sauce Gardner among others putting on a show week after week.

The Philadelphia defense also showed out, sacking Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett six times and forcing one interception. Pickett, 24, threw for 191 yards on 25-for-38 completions, while the Philly defense held the Steelers to just 134 rushing yards.

Against the Steelers, Hurts, threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns on 19-for-28 completed passes. He combined with Brown for three touchdowns before half-time to put the game out of reach for a Steelers team that had no answers offensively or defensively for the Eagles.

So far this season, Jalen Hurts has 1,514 yards thrown (16th in the league), six touchdowns (tied for 21st in the league), and an average quarterback rating of 60.8. It will be interesting to see if Hurts and the Eagles can go the entire season being undefeated. Many fans and pundits alike do not see this happening.
