Hogue and her husband, Summit Hogue, were true Texas Tech classmates of Patrick Mahomes. Brittany cherishes their friendship with Hogue. As time has gone by, Summit, Patrick, and their spouses have stayed friends.

Mahomes joined UMF Afturelding, an Icelandic team that played in the third division of the 2. deild kvenna, in May 2017. Her Texas-Tyler and Whitehouse High teammate Strother had already joined with a different league team.

In her one and only season, Mahomes made five appearances and netted two goals. UMF Afturelding won the league and was promoted to the 1. deild kvenna.
After the season, Mahomes’ contract with the team was not renewed.
