“If You Talk Sh*t on My Friend We Aren’t Cool”- Jake Shields Sheds Light on Nate Diaz’s Backstage Altercation With a Reporter at UFC 276

Nate Diaz has been out of action ever since his fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 263. The younger Diaz brother has been relentlessly seeking a fight but has not been helped out by the UFC. Therefore, he decided to take things into his own hands backstage at UFC 276.

In an impromptu interview, a reporter from Full Send MMA came right next to Diaz and asked if he had come to the fights to support Sean O’Malley. Diaz responded by slapping the microphone out of his hand and then slapping his cap off his head. Diaz was heard saying, “you better watch those tweets” before the sound cut out. While at this point in time the crux of the issue isn’t exactly known, it is safe to assume that the said reporter said something about Diaz or one of his team members that rubbed him the wrong way.

Following the incident, Diaz’s teammate Jake Shields took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the altercation. He said, “People think they can talk shit about your friends and then take a picture or get a interview. people come up say something disrespectful about a friend then try and get a picture. I don’t know how you role but if you talk shit on my friend we aren’t cool.”

Nate Diaz set to take on Jake Paul in a boxing match?

YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul has had his eyes set on a fight against Nate Diaz for a while now. However, given that he was under contract with the UFC and any potential deal there would have to go through Dana White, there was not a lot of seriousness in a fight between the two.

Now that Diaz is on the last fight of his contract, he is one fight away from being a free agent. He has been vocal in his interest of facing Jake Paul therefore there is a very strong chance that after Diaz is done with his UFC career, he will fight Nate Diaz in a boxing match.
