“I Would Have Bet Adesanya Would Have Done Something Like That”- Chris Pratt Hits Out at Israel Adesanya for ‘Pitter Patter’ Performance Against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276
Israel Adesanya took on Jared Cannonier for the middleweight belt at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. The fight topped off an eventful International fight week that saw the likes of Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
The fight against ‘The Killa Gorilla’ is something Adesanya had been wanting for sometime now and he finally got his wish. However, Adesanya had yet another ‘off night’ has put on a lackluster display to secure his 5th title defense. Videos emerged of hordes of fans heading for the exit even before the fight was over and ‘The Last Style Bender’ also received a lot of criticism online for putting on yet another ‘safe fight’.
Following the event, actor Chris Pratt shared his thoughts on Adesanya’s performance. He said, “Look I am saying this as humbly as I can, as a guy that has never stepped in the octagon I don’t know this game, I am just an actor but I am not a fan man.”

Pratt continued, “I am not a fan of coming out like all that talk and putting on a little bit of a pitter patter I am like ‘come on man, you gotta cash on that promise of being so badass I don’t know. If I bet with my money, I would have bet Adesanya would have done something like that… I am not going to lie.”
Israel Adesanya makes it three off-nights in a row
This is the third time now that Adesanya has put on a lackluster title defense. Against Vettori, Whittaker and now Cannonier, ‘The Last Style Bender’ was content on staying out of range and kicking his opponent’s legs. This has rubbed fans the wrong way who paid their hard-earned money to see little to no action in the main event.
In the build-up to the fight, Adesanya promised a finish over Canonnier. He stated that this fight would be a lot like his fight against Paulo Costa minus the ‘h**ping’. Unfortunately, fans did not see Adesanya live up to his promise in the main event at UFc 276.
