How Much Are Super Bowl Rings Worth?

The NFL Super Bowl ring has increased in size since its inception. Adorns of these rings have noticed that every year, the latest versions get bigger and bigger.

The rings from the 1980s and 90s looked like high school class rings. Conversely, modern Super Bowl rings almost completely encircle the finger.

These rings are representations of quality. Not many prestigious sports prizes are as personalized and useful as a colorful Super Bowl ring, even if there are plenty to be won all around the world.

How much does it cost to make a Super Bowl ring?

Although the league doesn’t state, there have been rumors that a whole team’s set-up costs upwards of $5 million. Naturally, the cost varies according to how fancy the gear is. According to ESPN, the New England Patriots awarded each of its players a ring with 205 diamonds in 2015, at an estimated cost of $5.475 million.

The league only covers a part of the expenses, which range from $5,000 to $7,000 each ring. The onus of finishing the job falls on the team owners.

Instead of keeping their gems, some ring owners choose to sell them. The value of the ring is influenced by a number of factors, including the recipient’s status. One of Tom Brady’s seven rings, for example, would fetch a lot more money if he were to sell it than a backup linebacker.

Usually, a Super Bowl ring costs $30,000. But they may cost a lot more, depending on how each club decides to customize them. If the pattern is really unique, made of a certain metal, or contains a large number of diamonds, the price will go up. Ruby or sapphire embellishments can be added to further personalize them.

Who has most Super Bowl rings ever?

In terms of players, Tom Brady stands out. Throughout his career, Brady—who is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks and players in NFL history—has won many Super Bowls.

He ended a brief retirement shortly after Bill Belichick deemed him surplus to requirements. He won six Super Bowls with the Patriots and then another with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 2020.

Who gets a Super Bowl ring?

Almost every member of the victorious team. The 53 players, coaches, and team executives will all receive jewelry, of course, but practice squad players will also receive hardware per the 2020 Collective Bargaining Agreement. (If the club owners would want, those may be of a “lesser value,” though.)

Naturally, the owners are also free to give rings to any other team members they like, including cheerleaders and janitors.
