“Goatsh*t” – NBA Legend Paul Piers Chimes in With his Take on the GOAT Debate After LeBron James Dropped 47 Points

Michael Jordan is much more than just a man who sells vintage sneakers, as the ESPN documentary series “The Last Dance” demonstrated to a younger generation of NBA fans. For many who saw Michael Jordan’s brilliance during his two three-peat seasons with the Bulls, it confirmed their opinion that he is the best player to ever step on a floor. Of course, the discussion of the GOAT has been muddied by a current star – LeBron James.

LeBron James may be said to be better than Michael Jordan, and his case got even stronger as he helped the Lakers defeat the Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. Despite not being a huge LeBron James fan, Paul Pierce could not dispute the talent the Los Angeles Lakers player displayed against the Atlanta Hawks.

Paul Pierce pitches in on the GOAT debate after LeBron James masterclass

Many former and present NBA players were in awe at LeBron’s incredible achievement, and many of them took to Twitter to express their admiration for him. Pierce added his two cents and said how impressed he is with what James has accomplished at the age of 38.

“At 18 years old, I knew how to play the game,” LeBron James said. “I knew I belonged in the NBA, but I didn’t know what I could become at 18. But I knew if I continued to put in the work and I continued to reach into the game then I could be one of the greatest players to ever play this game.”

Pierce was among those who have attacked LeBron throughout the years, but it is difficult to overlook or not recognise his talent at all.
