Gisele Bündchen’s Jiu-Jitsu Expertise Questioned Post Tom Brady’s Netflix Roast. Is She Truly Only A White Belt?

The Netflix roast of Tom Brady caused a plethora of collateral damage. His ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, was among the unsuspecting victims of the mocking interaction between the former quarterback and the show’s attendees. Every aspect of the model’s life was parodied, including her jiu-jitsu classes.

Tom Brady and Bündchen were married for 13 years, during which time they produced two children, Benjamin and Vivian. The couple’s marriage ended amicably, with Bündchen’s relationship with her jiu-jitsu teacher Joachim Valente coming to light.

Comedian Kevin Hart was one of the people who teased Gisele the most during the roast, and he didn’t hold back. As part of his intervention, Hart brought up the criticism Tom had gotten after leaving the New England Patriots, particularly the accusation that he had betrayed Bill Belichick, his coach.

The comic addressed this topic by saying, “You sometimes got to f*ck your coach,” and concluded by pointing out, “You know who else f*cked their coach? Gisele. She f*cked that karate man.”

The bond between Valente and Bundchen

Hart kept firing at Brady and Gisele because it felt like he had an endless supply of ammunition. “I mean, Jesus Christ, Tom. One of the smartest quarterbacks ever played a game. How did you not see this coming? Eight karate classes a day, and she’s still a white belt. F*ck Tom. The only bruises she had were on her ass. Everybody should have known it.”

The media reacted swiftly to the comedian’s remarks, devoting time to investigating Gisele’s actual background in this Japanese martial art that gained particular traction in Brazil.

Dust Magazine states that Bundchen started her jiu-jitsu career in December 2021, having brought her son Benjamin to his first lessons at the academy run by the Valente brothers. The model said in an interview that she had earned her blue belt in just a single year.

Gisele’s ranking in jiu-jitsu

Gisele bragged about getting her purple belt in 2023 on her Instagram Stories. Jiu-jitsu has up to thirteen degrees, denoted by colored belts, depending on the style, the school, and the practitioner’s age. The purple belt is the third of five grades in the Bundchen and Valente case.

Bundchen, her family, and a number of celebrities have strongly denounced the jokes made about Brady at the model’s expense.

An insider told PEOPLE magazine, “[Gisele] is deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.”
