Full list of Detroit Lions Roster Cuts ahead of NFL 2022-23 season Posted on September 4, 2022September 4, 2022 by Arnold D'souza Jermar Jefferson defeated Igwebuike in the competition to be on the Detroit Lions roster. In the larger scheme of things, it doesn’t really matter, but Igwebuike was the Lions’ main kick returner. Head coach Dan Campbell reiterated Igwebuike’s position at the top of the depth chart on kick returns just one week ago. Igwebuike outperformed Jefferson in the preseason in terms of rushing the ball and provided far more in the passing game over the summer, but it wasn’t enough to retain the former Detroit safety on the team’s first 53-man roster. https://twitter.com/HonoluluFancave/status/1564672372879212544 Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Lions, made a wise decision by using two quarterbacks rather than three. Similarly, substituting Sudfeld for David Blough was a mistake. When called upon for in-game action, Sudfeld brings a different dynamic to practices and a more seasoned presence. There are currently only three running backs on the Lions’ roster. Swift is the starting running back, but Williams and Reynolds should see plenty of action as well. All have varied running techniques and abilities, but they all excel as receivers out of the backfield. The likelihood of having the starting five healthy and collaborating together represent the Lions roster’s strongest element. All five players are above-average athletes in their positions. Sadly, due to injuries, they were never on the pitch together in 2021. Both Decker and Vaitai just finished their finest overall NFL seasons. Hutchinson, the No. 2 overall choice, entered the game right away and is still showing signs of being more than prepared. He should aid Harris, who performed admirably in his debut season in Detroit while receiving little assistance from the opposition. Brockers is a seasoned graybeard who still possesses his cunning, albeit we did not see him operating at full speed very often this summer. McNeill is a well-liked contender for breakout player since he has developed into more than just a nose tackle.
