Desean Jackson, a former player for the Philadelphia Eagles, just announced his retirement. Despite his impressive career earnings of over $91 million, he expressed his desire to reach the same financial status as Magic Johnson.

After agreeing to a one-day contract to end his career with the Birds, the 37-year-old former wide receiver had a sit-down with Adam22 on the “No Jumper” podcast this week. He disclosed that although he is appreciative of the money he made during his career, he is aware that those paychecks are no longer coming.

Jackson discussed his desire to earn even more money than the millions of dollars he earned from catching passes in the NFL during a recent interview with the No Jumper podcast.

“The hustler I am, I ain’t satisfied with the money I made in the NFL,” Jackson began, per Daily Mail.

“I would meet you today, and you wouldn’t even think I made $100-plus million in the NFL. Because guess what? That money right there, that’s going to make my future be cool for my kids. But right now, I still need bread, so I’m out here getting all type of stuff, going private equity, real estate…”

Jackson signed a one-day deal with his previous squad and retired from the league this year as an Eagle. He played for Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas throughout his NFL career. He had over 1,000 yards in several seasons. Most likely, many will remember him from the 2010 Giants game, when he returned a 65-yard punt for a score just as time ran out.
