Baker Mayfield, the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, is not enjoying the season he anticipated for the team. After falling to the Baltimore Ravens at home in Week 11, the Panthers currently have a 3-8 record. For the Panthers, Mayfield started the game at centre, but his performance wasn’t great.

In the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Shannon Sharpe wasted no time in making an aggressive move. Sharpe criticised the quarterback on Undisputed, much to the chagrin of co-host Skip Bayless. According to Sharpe-

The quarterback Baker Mayfield is not very good. And despite growing evidence that Mayfield is a poor quarterback, Skip Bayless jumped on the bandwagon a long time ago and won’t leave it.

Sharpe was prepared to take on his debate partner after Mayfield once again showed that he is not a franchise quarterback in the NFL with a poor performance against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon.

“With a QBR of 57.8, Baker Mayfield ranks dead last in 2022. In terms of completion %, he is 33rd. You gonna let me talk?”

Passions were high as Sharpe continued:\s”He’s a bum. He’s trash and you know it. And every time you bring him up, I’m going to let the world know exactly what he is.”

Bayless could be heard making fun of Sharpe while he was ranting, saying “blah, blah, blah.” It was more the vibe between them than the words that were stated.

For Carolina, the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner has started six games so far this year. In four of his six starts, he has passed for fewer than 200 yards. In just two of those starts did he have a quarterback rating over 80. The signal-caller, who is 27 years old, played his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns before joining the Panthers.
