Downfall Of Yankees After All-Stars : Explained

Six All-Stars from the Yankees competed in the Midsummer Classic on July 19 at Dodger Stadium, joining the American League starting pitchers Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, who had already been announced. These players were Cortes, Gerrit Cole, Clay Holmes, and Jose Trevino. The Yankees have six or more All-Stars for the first time since 2011.

The Yankees haven’t had much luck thus far in August.

They have a 2-7 month record and a 7-13 record since the All-Star break. They are 10-18 since defeating the Red Sox on July 8 to move to 61-23 (five victories more than the next closest team in baseball). Their 79 victories in MLB Standing currently rank fourth in the majors, trailing only the Dodgers, Mets, Braves , and Astros. They are still four games ahead of the next closest team in the AL East and are among the favorites to win the World Series, but they aren’t on track to have the historic season that it appeared they would take a month ago.

So Finally we can say that Yankees could collapse.

Players body Language say it all and they have no clue how to come out from the funk

“We’re not where we want to be,” Giancarlo Stanton said, “but we still have a fine opportunity.”
Said Boone: “It’s right there. We have the same conversation every day. We’ve got to find a way, we’ve got to score. We’ve got thing right here to grab and take and we’re still in control of that.”

The New York Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone has been having a difficult time explaining the team’s free fall in the second half of the season.
He does, however, hope that Friday night’s 9-0 setback to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field served as a wake-up call for New York.

The normally gracious Boone replied, “That’s an embarrassing loss. “Hopefully one of those embarrassing and humiliating situations where you should be furious. Here, we’ve established a higher bar. We simply need to improve. Period.”

The Yankees’ 9-0 loss was their greatest thrashing of the year. Their greatest loss since October 2, 2021, specifically against Tampa Bay, was by a nine-run deficit (12-2).

What Could Be The Reason For Yankees Downfall?

1) Injuries

Everyone should not feel sorry for the Yankees because injuries happen to every club. Injury is merely a fact of life; it’s not a justification for bad play. The Yankees have recently suffered season-ending injuries to setup men Chad Green (Tommy John surgery) and Michael King (elbow fracture), as well as potentially comeback slugger Matt Carpenter (broken foot). Luis Severino (lat strain) and Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles tendinitis) have also missed a significant amount of time due to injuries. There are a lot of significant guys on the bench.

Again, injuries are a part of the game and every team struggles with them, so no sense dwelling on this. It’s important to understand that the Yankees have recently lost a few incredibly strong and crucial guys to injury.

2) Rotation Gone Wrong

The rotation for New York has declined from being one of baseball’s best at preventing home runs to being almost as bad. While their strikeout percentage remains steady, their walk rate is somewhat higher but still significantly below the MLB average (8.2 per cent of hitters faced). The rotation is essentially pitching the same way it did previously, but with many more balls leaving the yard.

the severity of the reversion to the mean was anticipated by the Yankees. A terrific rotation followed by an abruptly poor rotation is a proven way to drop from having the greatest record in the sport to playing. During two months, 500 balls.

3) Aron Judge is Already Doing Well

The 22-25 stretch, and especially the 7-13 record since the All-Star break, are concerning, but perhaps more so because Aaron Judge has been on an all-time hot streak. The favourite for the AL MVP is hitting.400/.533/.986 in the second half, with 12 home runs. Since the All-Star break, Judge has hit more home runs (12) than the Marlins (11). Moreover, Judge is hitting.366/.486/.756 with runners in scoring position, proving that he hasn’t been padding his stat line in low-stakes situations. He has been amazingly good. So Yankees have no clue where to ask more from? How to cover it still remains a question!

Let us sum up
– DJLM is average player now.
– Gleyber Torres ,IKF, and Donaldson Not performing and Wrong to ask Judge every night and – RISP Stinks
– Pen has become weakness- inconsistent/injured
– Montas trade Bust
