Detroit Pistons’ Star Rookie Makes Major LeBron James Record in Loss to Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons 128-121 on Friday night to win back-to-back games for just the second time this season. Anthony Davis scored 38 points and 16 rebounds, Lonnie Walker added 17 points, and the Los Angeles Lakers hung on for the victory. With a left groin strain for the Lakers, LeBron James missed his third consecutive game and was unable to play again even after his struggling team had the previous four days off.

In LeBron James’ absence, Davis had his second straight productive game, scoring 37 points against the Nets and making 18 of his 21 free throw attempts. The last time Davis had consecutive 30-point performances was from February 1-2 of last year. LeBron James’ lengthy playing career has echoes of history.

Jalen Duren becomes the first NBA player born after the debut of LeBron James to play in the league

LeBron James has shown to be one of the finest players in the world from October 2003 until November 2022. Jalen Duren became the first active NBA player born after James’ entry into the league to make his debut when the Detroit Pistons traveled to the former Staples Center to play against the Los Angeles Lakers.

“It was surreal. You know what I mean,” Duren said. “LeBron’s been in the league longer than I’ve been alive. To be on the court with him in some ways is unbelievable.”

Even though Jalen Duren is only 18 years old, he is now commemorating his 19th birthday. But it’s also important to remember that LeBron James has now been an NBA player for longer than Duren has been.

On October 29, 2003, LeBron’s professional life began. Twenty days later, Duren was born. Few athletes have professional careers that endure longer than some of their colleagues and rivals’ lifetimes.
