Despite Dana White’s ‘Total Bullshit’ Statement, Mark Zuckerberg Spotted at the UFC Apex for Dern vs Xiaonan

For the better part of two years now, most of the events put on by the UFC have taken place at the UFC Apex. The UFC Apex is the promotion’s own facility that was originally built for hosting shows like Dana White’s Contender Series and The Ultimate Fighter. However, due to the pandemic, the promotion was not allowed to take the show on the road as they usually do therefore the Apex became the main arena for the company, especially for fight nights.

Initially, the Apex was open only for the UFC staff. However, as time went on and the spread of covid-19 reduced, the promotion opened the doors for media and a limited number of fans. This weekend in what was a first in a very long time, it was announced that the Apex would be shut for both fans as well as for the media. At first there were no reports to why this was the case, but it was later revealed by Mackenzie Dern who was headlining the card this weekend.

Mackenzie Dern exposes Dana White and the UFC

She said, “I know Mark Zuckerberg rented out the whole event, so I know he’ll be there. But I don’t know if it’s just, like, literally him and his wife, if he’s gonna have friends or if it’s just like a small party. I don’t know. I’m excited and that just makes me more driven to put on a good show. I know everyone’s watching on TV, but for Mark and whoever’s gonna be there, I’ll put on a show. That’s what they want to see, is a show, then we’re gonna give a show.”

Dana White was quick to squash his athletes’ comments by saying, “Mark Zuckerberg did NOT rent out the UFC Apex. That’s total bullshit.”

Photos shared on the UFC’s social media pages confirm that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan were both in attendance at the UFC Apex. Which leads to the question why was it a closed event and why did Dana White deny that Zuckerberg rented out the event?
