Deshaun Watson Case: NFL and NFL Players Association’s Submission to NFL’s Disciplinary Officer Due Today
Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, is up for suspension, and the NFL and NFL Players Association will be presenting their written arguments to Judge Sue L. Robinson at some point today. After 11 days, the hearing was over. Technically, it’s known as a post-hearing brief.
In a circumstance like this, it is customary for one person to hear the evidence, ascertain the facts, and apply the pertinent legal standards. Following the three-day Watson hearing, it was announced that the NFL and NFLPA will present themselves to Judge Sue L. Robinson on July 11th. 
At some time, that deadline was brought up by one day. The post-hearing briefs are due today, July 12, according to a person with knowledge of the issue via ProFootballTalk.

NFL NFLPA briefs to Judge for Deshaun Watson case due today
After reviewing the papers, Judge Robinson will finally reach a ruling. She must produce a decision that is easy to read and understand. If there is an appeal, she will make detailed factual findings that will be binding on Commissioner Roger Goodell. If the material is made public, it will be closely examined, studied, and perhaps critiqued.
Additionally, a settlement might occur at any time. An agreed settlement is unlikely while the attorneys are running the hourly meter on producing the written papers, as someone stated last week. The attorneys might be able to bill some time for trying to negotiate an agreement once the paperwork is submitted.
Since the Browns QB was originally accused of sexual assault, more than a year and a half had passed. His punishment’s entire extent is still a mystery. There are still four legal claims pending, and the NFL has not decided whether to uphold his punishment. If he never returns to the field, Watson’s statistical career will have spanned the years 2017 through 2020.
