Dennis Schroder Has Played For Five Different NBA Teams, But Only Brags About Lakers on Social Media

Danny Green and the draft rights to first-round choice Jaden McDaniels were received in return for Dennis Schroder when he was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. He turned down the Lakers’ four-year, $84 million contract extension offer at the end of March 2021 in order to sign a bigger offer during the off-season as an unrestricted free agency.

The Lakers acquired point guard Russell Westbrook in a deal during the off-season, indicating that Schröder would unavoidably be replaced. Schröder later signed a one-year, $5.9 million taxpayer mid-level exception deal with the Boston Celtics.

Dennis Schroder

Dennis abruptly departed the Lakers for the Celtics this summer after a dismal playoff showing in 2021. The guard did score 14.3 points a game, but he only shot 40.8% from the field and 30.88% from beyond the arc. However, when it comes down to bragging on social media, he only cares about his Lakers career.

Dennis Schroder and his love for the Lakers on social media

Schroder has just one picture on his Instagram from his NBA career and that too is about the Lakers and LeBron James.

During the 2020–2021 season, Schroder averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while starting 61 games for the Lakers. The point guard was offered the aforementioned extension for his excellent play, but he declined it in the anticipation of receiving a better offer following a successful postseason run.

Prior to the trade deadline in the previous season, Schroder was eventually dealt to the Rockets, although he had trouble securing regular playing time. Perhaps a Lakers-Schroder reunion will materialize given Russell Westbrook’s recent appearance in trade speculations and his grueling past season.
