“Date Him, He’s Not Ugly”: Kelce’s friends played matchmaker with Taylor Swift after Mahomes’ suggestion

Fans of Taylor Swift might have responded, “You’re not that innocent,” if you had told them a year ago that the pop sensation would become entangled in a whirlwind romance with an NFL tight end. But thanks to some crucial aids from some of the greatest names in football, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs are playing the lead opposite Swift in this “Anti-Hero” love story.

Sportscasters Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson unexpectedly revealed on “The Tonight Show” that they were the ones who “kicked the tires” to get Kelce and Swift together in the first place. “We were advocating early on… Taylor, do this for America. Date him!” Thompson shouted and gave her pal Kelce a “Hail Mary.”

“I mean, the guy, he’s not ugly by any means,” Andrews interjected, thinking back to Kelce’s appearance on his “New Heights” podcast, where he talked of wanting to meet Swift during a concert. She went so far as to quote a “SNL” skit showcasing Kelce’s charm, saying, “We’re like, Taylor, go.”

The matchmaking efforts extended further. On “The Pat McAfee Show,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes disclosed that he was the one who initially helped Kelce make his move with Swift. Mahomes confessed to inviting his teammate to the pop star’s concert, where Kelce planned to give her a friendship bracelet, reminiscent of a scene from a teen rom-com.

“I have to take some of the credit,” Mahomes admitted. “I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concertI feel like I was the matchmaker.” Although the bracelet plan didn’t pan out, Mahomes encouraged Kelce to “just go for it,” and the rest is history. The QB added, “It’s been a fun run.”

With football’s elite playing cupid, it’s no wonder Swift and Kelce’s romance has been a “wildest dreams” scenario for fans. As McAfee joked, Mahomes might just be “the greatest matchmaker of all time,” proving these MVPs have an eye for more than just touchdowns.

From friendship bracelets to family feasts, is a proposal on the horizon?

While fans may be eager for Kelce to “put a ring on it,” Taylor Swift and the Chiefs tight end are already hitting major relationship milestones, strengthening their bond both on and off the field. Reports indicate that Swift celebrated Easter with Kelce’s family in Pennsylvania – a gesture that would make any significant other feel like they’re “feeling 22” again. Kylie Kelce, the wife of Travis’ brother Jason, expressed her support, saying, “If Trav’s happy, we’re happy. It’s been amazing.”

Fans may need to “shake it off,” though if they are holding their breath for an engagement. Us Weekly was informed by a reliable insider that Travis “has no plans to propose to Taylor. It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”

The energetic couple is enjoying their whirlwind courtship full of international get-togethers, hopping between Australia and Singapore. They recently returned from a romantic holiday to Lake Como in Italy. However, “Things between them are going amazing, but they haven’t even been together for a year yet and still have so much to learn about each other.” the insider revealed to the Mirror US.

While David Portnoy of Barstool Sports predicts a Kelce proposal “within a year,” others feel the couple is pacing themselves. A source from Life & Style mentioned, “They’ve been together almost a year now and they’re madly in love, so it makes sense that they’d be discussing marriage. The big moment and the ring need to be super special.”

Do you reckon it’s about time for this dynamic duo to tie the knot?
