“Couldn’t Get 40”: LeBron James Gets Hilariously Trolled by Lakers Teammate After Dropping 39 Points vs Spurs
When the Lakers defeated the Spurs on Friday night thanks to LeBron James’ 21 and 8 performance, the first concern was whether he would participate in the back-to-back on Saturday. After all, he had recently missed five games due to a groin ailment. James led Cleveland to a 143-138 victory over San Antonio on Saturday with 39 points (11-21 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 10-10 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal in 35 minutes of play. The Los Angeles Lakers are now able to make some progress.
In their last six games, the Lakers have won five of them, including a close victory over the San Antonio Spurs. While Anthony Davis was out with a calf injury, James put on a dominant performance against the Spurs, scoring 14 of his points in the fourth quarter. After James had helped Los Angeles to victory, Austin Greaves, who contributed 16 points off the bench, came through with the quips.

Austin Reaves cracks a joke on LeBron James
“He couldn’t get 40. Unfortunate,” Reaves joked, via Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group. “Obviously Bron did what Bron does.”
Didn't hear it at first over the din of the locker room but just checked the recording of Austin Reaves' first comments on LeBron James scoring 39 points on 11 for 21 shooting: "He couldn't get 40. Unfortunate."
Laughed then added: "Obviously Bron did what Bron does."

LeBron-led Lakers defeated the Spurs 143-138 on Saturday, but the game will likely be remembered more for Zach Collins’ ejection for a foul that left Russell Westbrook bloodied. The Lakers have won five of six games and three in a row, but they did it while playing against a fairly lenient schedule.
Los Angeles has shown flashes of life this season by defeating the teams in front of them, but they now need to continue that momentum into a stretch against superior competition, starting on Monday against the Pacers. The Lakers still have plenty of time to improve their weaknesses as they enter their final games of November with just a 7-11 record.
