College Football Week 4: Predictions, Schedule, Time, Lines

The first conference games of the 2022 college football season are currently beginning across the nation, three weeks into the season. Let’s make predictions for Week 4!

Let’s catch up on how the Football Power Index computer prediction model currently forecasts the top games before this weekend’s action.

College football Football Power Index (FPI) rankings and computer prediction model are measures of team strength that forecast a team’s performance going forward.

Rankings and score forecasts are based on 20,000 simulations of a team’s season utilizing a variety of data, including the team’s schedule, opponents’ quality, and previous performance.

Before that, let’s take a look at Week 3 winners-

Washington: The Huskies battled No. 11 Michigan State to demonstrate that their gaudy offensive numbers were no accident after scoring a combined 97 points against Kent State and Portland State. Transfer quarterback Michael Penix Jr. had a high-profile Big Ten foe in the bag as he threw for 397 yards, nine different receivers, and four touchdowns. In a 4-8 season, Washington had one of the worst offences in NCAA football, averaging just 21.5 points per game. After tonight, head coach Kalon DeBoer expects the Huskies to be a legitimate Pac-12 contender thanks to his swift turnaround of the situation. On Sunday, Washington should see the highest increase in the polls.

Basketball schools: The biggest and best in college basketball are dominating on the gridiron. Kentucky and North Carolina were predicted to be strong competitors. It was expected that Kansas, Duke, Syracuse, and Indiana would all be cellar dwellers. I guess surprise! Three weeks into the season, the basketball powerhouses have a combined record of 18-0, including a perfect 6-0 versus Power Five opposition. Ironically, Baylor, Florida, and Michigan State, the teams that are believed to have the finest football teams and have won basketball championships since 2000, have all suffered defeats.

Oklahoma: The No. 6 Sooners defeated Nebraska 49-14 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score, giving the Cornhuskers one of their worst defeats in school history. Oklahoma dominated the offensive and defensive halves of the clip. Following losses by Baylor, Texas, and Kansas State, the Sooners are once again the Big 12 front-runners.
