Cleveland Browns’ Kareem Hunt RB: NFL Fantasy Data & Stats Speculations 2022

Player Outlook

Going into the 2022 season, the Cleveland Browns offense is in an intriguing position. They are unsure if star quarterback Deshaun Watson will play or not, so to speak. They are aware that Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt form one of the league’s top running back tandems.

Hunt will need to carry Chubb regardless of the center, which makes relying on him problematic from a fantasy football viewpoint. In the first five weeks, he scored 17.8 PPR points on average per game. But after that, he sustained four separate injuries, and he played just sparingly for the remainder of 2021.

Even if Chubb were to miss time, the Browns coaching staff could still play Hunt and D’Ernest Johnson as a combination. The worry is that the coaching staff will undoubtedly limit Hunt’s touches in games in which Chubb participates.

It’s intriguing to see where Hunt stands as the 2022 season approaches. On the one hand, he may very well be the best running back for a different club. Instead, he will take advantage of the touches that come his way by positioning himself below Chubb on the depth chart. Hunt benefited greatly from it in 2020, as he saw more touches while Chubb was forced to miss time due to injury.

Hunt being selected as a full-PPR No. 2 running back in the last minute won’t necessarily backfire, but last year is a microcosm of what may go well and what can go badly. But with Hunt’s injury in 2021, Chubb became undoubtedly one of the best five running backs in the NFL.
