Cheating And Divorce Alert: NBA Star Iman Shumpert And Teyana Taylor Are Getting Divorce. Know Who Cheated On Whom

After almost eight years of marriage, Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor announced their split on September 17, 2023. However, back in January of this year, the singer of “Maybe” filed for divorce from the former Cleveland Cavaliers player. Rue, age three, and Junie, age seven, are their two daughters. It has been reported that she is requesting full custody of their children from the court.

Taylor’s complaint stated the following in the court documents that TMZ was able to obtain:

“[Shumpert] was treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.

In the document, there was also:

“[She] began to intentionally dim her light for her husband to try to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage.

Teyana Taylor said that even though Iman Shumpert was earning more money, he was growing increasingly insecure with her. In addition, the singer of “Bare Wit Me” said that the former guard for the New York Knicks was “being extremely and mentally abusive towards her.”

Living with Shumpert was an experience of ups and downs, according to Taylor’s lawsuit. Although he disapproved of her working, he was upset that she wasn’t earning enough to support them financially. She filed for divorce in part due of the emotional highs and lows.

When the pair announced their split on Instagram two months prior, she stated:

“To be 1000% clear, “infidelity” ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children.”

She has now accused him of cheating on her numerous times in her divorce documents. The vocalist of “We Got Love” stated that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” due to all of the previously mentioned factors.

Teyana Taylor stated that she attempted to keep her marriage to Iman Shumpert intact.

Teyana Taylor asserted that she attempted to save the marriage despite years of supposedly abusive and narcissistic conduct from Iman Shumpert. It is said that she declined jobs and offers since the 2016 NBA champion was uneasy and didn’t want her to work.

Taylor desired to stick with her man through the highs and lows of their relationship, according to the divorce documents. The anguish and chaos of a failed marriage was something she didn’t want her girls to experience. However, she said that no matter how hard she tried, he would just “react with further cruel treatment and selfishness.”

The former Brooklyn Nets guard reportedly attempted to halt the divorce procedure when he learned that she had already filed her paperwork. He requested their removal by her legal team. That was the last straw for Taylor, though, as Shumpert apparently kept on cheating.

When the news broke, Shumpert remained silent for a while. When pressed for a response, Teyana Taylor allegedly remained silent.
