Chargers QB Easton Stick Potential Breakout Candidate In Chargers Training Camp
NFL fans are expecting a world of things from Chargers QB Justin Herbert. There are talks of Herbert putting up all time passing TD numbers and possibly being in the running for MVP. But Herbert isn’t the only talent QB on this roster. To start off there is Max Duggan who was just drafted out of TCU. Duggan led his team on a cinderella run in 2022, leading TCU to a national championship against Georgia where they got annihilated 65-7. Duggan was also a Heisman Trophy finalist, finishing 2nd in Heisman voting behind USC QB Caleb Williams.
Aside from starting QB Herbert, and the Heisman Trophy finalist Max Duggan, the other quarterback on the Roster is Easton Stick, Stick was drafted in the 5th round of the 2019 NFL out of North Dakota State. And Chargers insider, Eric Smith, thinks he has a real opportunity to standout this year. Stick is 27 and never got his chance of playing an NFL, the only time he has ever stepped foot on a football field in a regular season game was against the Jaguars in 2020. Easton has 1 career passing attempt and one career completion for 4 yards. However in the pre-season Stick has had some serious highlight reel moments. One being this Patrick Mahomes esk pump and throw along the side line to the back of the endzone for a touchdown.
Heck of a play by Easton Stick. Touchdown, @chargers! ⚡

Kellan Moore stepping in at offensive coordinator is a massive move for the starters such as Justin Herbert, the Chargers championship window is expiring and Moore might be able to put them over the top. But Herbert isn’t the only QB that Moore is working with, Duggan and Easton also receive the benefits of Moore. Stick will be 28 by the start of the NFL season and this is his last year under contract with the Chargers. Next season he will be 29 and a free agent, so this year’s pre-season is a big deal for him. Through Stick’s Career it is estimated he has made 5 million dollars only stepping foot on an NFL field once, if Stick wants to continue making money in the NFL his impact during the pre-season this year is vital.
