Can the Dallas Cowboys still win the NFC East division title?

The Dallas Cowboys moved to 12-4 at the end of Week 17 with a win over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday. The victory also pushed them closer to NFC East leaders Philadelphia Eagles. While Mike McCarthy’s side has already booked their spot in the playoffs but they can hunt for some more glory in the regular season as well.

As things stand, the Eagles are leading the NFC East division with a stunning 13-2 record. However, they lost their second game of the season in Week 16 against the Cowboys with Gardner Minshew as their starting quarterback. Minshew has replaced the injured Jalen Hurts, who may not return in time for the team’s remaining two regular season matchups.

This has led to some worries for Nick Sirianni’s side heading into Week 17. The Eagles will play the New Orleans Saints.

How can the Dallas Cowboys steal the NFC East title?

In order for the Cowboys to win the NFC East, they will need Philadelphia to lose their game against the Saints this weekend. If the Eagles win in Week 17 of the NFL season, they will be confirmed as NFC East champions.

However, if the Eagles lose this weekend, it makes things interesting for their final matchup. If Philadelphia loses in Week 18, and the Cowboys win their matchup against the Washington Commanders, Dallas will win the division.

As both teams will have a potentially equal record of 13-4, Dallas have the head-to-head advantage over the Eagles. This is the only way that the Cowboys can win the division. However, if the Eagles win either of their two remaining games, they will be crowned champions of the NFC East.
