Brooklyn Nets Lose 10th Game in a Row: No Team Have Won a Championship With a 10-Game Losing Streak in the Same Season

Brooklyn Nets have been in the news for the James Harden-Ben Simmons trade on the deadline. However, they have headlines yet against after losing their 10th straight game against Washington Wizards. In fact, the Nets currently have the longest active losing streak in the NBA this season.

Brooklyn Nets are now 8th in the eastern conference league table with a 29-25 record. It’s weird to think how a team that led the eastern conference table at one time is now in the play-in spots. However, now they’ve got Ben Simmons and can start bouncing back from here.

However, an interesting stat has just popped up regarding the Nets. No NBA team has ever won the championship after losing 10 straight games in the regular season.

Brooklyn Nets lose 10th straight game this season

According to Statmuse, no NBA team in the history of the game has ever won the championship after losing 10 straight games in a season.

Can the Nets bounce back from this and go on to win the championships once Kevin Durant returns? It is yet to be known. But the future looks bright for the Nets as they managed to get their hands on 25-year-old Ben Simmons.

James Harden-Ben Simmons trade

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Brooklyn Nets are sending James Harden and Paul Millsap to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round selections.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Harden will exercise his $47.3 million player option next season as part of the agreement. The trade was formally revealed on Thursday night, with Nets general manager Sean Marks commenting on the agreement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ben, Seth, Andre and their families to Brooklyn,” Nets General Manager Sean Marks said.

Last season, injuries hampered Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving to only nine regular-season games together. The Nets advanced over the Boston Celtics in the first round, but Harden tore his hamstring against the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round. Trading for Ben Simmons, an ultimate basketball oddity, has not only alleviated Brooklyn’s short-term strain but also provided them with a longer runway to win big. The Nets have become more traditional as a result of it.
