After Leading the Seahawks to a Win Over the Lions, Geno Smith Set a Record You Won’t Believe Is Real
Heading into the 2022 NFL season, most fans and pundits alike predicted that this season would be a complete write-off for the Seattle Seahawks. The team led by Geno Smith has arguably the worst quarterback lineup amongst all other teams in the league, and a number of rookies have yet to settle into their respective roles. To add to that, the departure of Russell Wilson in the off-season further added salt to the wounds of the Seahawks.
Russell Wilson through 4 games this season: 80-of-131 (61.1%), 980 passing yards, 4 TD, 1 INT.
Geno Smith through 4 games this season: 102-of-132 (77.3%), 1,037 yards, 6 TD, 2 INT.

However, despite all that four games into the season, the Seahawks have a very respectable 2-2 record in the league. The Seahawks started their season with an impressive 17-16 win over Russell Wilson and his new team, the Denver Broncos. They then went on to lose two straight games against the 49ers and the Falcons. However, in game week four, the Seahawks bounced back into the win column with a 48-45 win over the Detroit Lions.
.@Seahawks QB @GenoSmith3 has a 77.3 completion percentage (102 of 132) through his first four games this season, the highest completion percentage (minimum 125 attempts) by a quarterback in his first four games of a season in NFL history. #GoHawks

The game against the Lions was a record-breaking night for Geno Smith. A tweet put out by the Seahawks PR account stated, “@Seahawks QB @GenoSmith3 has a 77.3 completion percentage (102 of 132) through his first four games this season, the highest completion percentage (minimum 125 attempts) by a quarterback in his first four games of a season in NFL history. #GoHawks.”
Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks claim the win in a gripping game of football
Russell Wilson had been the cornerstone of the Seahawks team for the better part of a decade, and losing him was a big blow for the team. However, Geno Smith has stepped up big time this season and has better stats in the first four games than the man he replaced. In the first four games Smith completed, 102-of-132 (77.3%), 1,037 yards, 6 TD, 2 INT.

Geno Smith is a $3.5 million cap hit. Best veteran contract value in the NFL and it’s not at all close whatsoever in no way shape or form. He also ran for 49 yards and a score against the Lions, on top of his impeccable afternoon of throwing (23-for-30, 320 yards, two TDs, 132.6 passer rating).
