Accused of Punching and Flashing Gun at Teenager, Ja Morant Uses Controversial Finger Gun Celebration During Win Over Rockets

For Ja Morant, the current climate is similar to living in a nightmare. His destiny is now in danger at the exact moment that he is playing the best basketball of his life. Morant has been charged with engaging in physical altercations unbecoming of a sportsman of his calibre. He was allegedly assaulted by him and his friend, to the point where he developed a sizable knot on his skull. Ja Morant didn’t seem to be avoiding the most recent charges brought against him on Thursday night.

Days after it was claimed that Morant displayed a gun at an adolescent he allegedly struck last summer, the Memphis Grizzlies player reacted with a finger-gun celebration of colleague Desmond Bane’s three-point shot against the Houston Rockets.

In the police report, which was made public by the Washington Post on Wednesday, it was stated that Nether Morant, a 23-year-old All-Star, had allegedly “threatened” a mall security guard in a Memphis parking lot four days prior to his encounter with the teen. Neither Morant nor the Grizzlies have responded to this claim in the public eye.

Ja Morant does the finger gun celebration

Ironically, Morant started the “finger guns” celebrations on the same day that the Post’s story charging him of two distinct violent altercations was published. Ja Morant is plainly visible watching the Houston Rockets game from the bleachers. The 6 foot 2-inch point guard praised Desmond Bane’s amazing corner three-pointer. But he went to a party that would only be derided on that one day.

The director of security at a Memphis mall argued with Morant’s crew, according to a police report that was released this week in the Washington Post. The man claimed that he felt “threatened” and was shoved into a parking lot. Morant allegedly hit a 17-year-old boy during a basketball game at his house four days after that incident, claiming the teen hurled a ball at him to start the fight.

Ja Morant is not presently in prison because no charges have been brought against either of the parties. The County Office was unable to locate sufficient proof to support either Morant’s or the boy’s version of events.
