Angel Reese, a former standout player for the LSU Tigers women’s college basketball team, has advanced in her career by being selected as the seventh overall choice in the WNBA Draft. She will now start playing basketball professionally for the Chicago Sky.
While attending Louisiana State University, Angel was referred to with affection as “Bayou Barbie,” a moniker that perfectly captured her bright personality and skill on the court. Angel has made the decision to give up this nickname and take on a new one, signifying a new phase in her sporting career, now that she will be playing for the Chicago Sky.

In around three weeks, the WNBA preseason will start. After playing the Minnesota Lynx, Reese’s new team, the Chicago Sky, will take against the New York Liberty to start its preseason.
After a two-game series against the Dallas Wings, who rank second in the Western Conference and fourth overall in the 2024 regular season, Angel’s new squad will have a challenging start to the season.
