The Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro wideout, who has been the subject of trade talk and resentful rumors for weeks, made a strong statement on 94.1 WIP, the city’s biggest sports radio station, on how the whole outlet has treated his two years with the team.

“What’s the deal?” Brown said on the afternoon show hosted by former Eagle Ike Reese and Jack Fritz. “You guys are supposed to be supporting Philly but it doesn’t turn out to be that. Why makeup so many rumors because most of the rumors don’t even be real rumors these are rumors that you guys are making up and everybody runs with.”

“I have no problem,” Brown said.

“I want to be here, it’s as simple as that. I love where I’m at, it’s as simple as that. Next question.”

“I’m the person you need on this team because I am willing to hold people accountable, make people around me better,” Brown said later. “But nobody sees that. All you see is the little flare ups…Nobody in that building works harder than me, I can stand on that and say that.”

Brown also called fake news on the idea that there was a “rift” between himself and Hurts.

“I think that is BS,” Brown said.

“I’m not going to get into me and his relationship on the air. It’s total BS. it wasn’t a problem when I was on my six-game streak. They only started talking about that when we started losing.”

Though Brown has over 3,000 yards of total offense after being traded to the Eagles and established franchise records for catches in a single season (106), his leadership has come under scrutiny since he declined to interact with the media amid Philadelphia’s disappointing late-season performance.

The former Titan previously gave an explanation for his decision to keep quiet about his sentiments with the media, but on Friday, Brown wasn’t holding back his scorn.

“No matter what I say, y’all are gonna run with something. It was never what the Eagles did/said, it was what A.J. said. So I didn’t wanna do my team like that, so I stopped talking.”

Although Brown denied that there were any serious problems in the locker room, he did think that the players should have shared more of the blame for the Eagles’ late-season collapse than did the coaches.

“Yeah, the locker room was fine,” Brown said. “Players wasn’t executing, that’s what it came down to. I think the media kind of ran with the coaches…It was the players not executing.”
