3 RBs That Are Going To Regress In 2023…
Here are a couple regression candidates at the running back position you want to look out for before you end up drafting them in your fantasy football leagues, and possibly blowing your chances of winning before the league even starts
1.) Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson ADP RB10
The Patriots have been actively searching for a RB this off-season in the free agency market between Zeke Elliott and Dalvin Cook. If the Patriots do land a new running back in free agency the carries won’t be there for Stevenson like they were last year when he finished as the fantasy RB7 behind Nick Chubb. Plus with the addition of Juju Smith-Schuster there will more of a push to improve the passing game, meaning not a heavily influenced run game led by Stevenson. There is absolutely no way that Stevenson finishes as the RB7 again in fantasy, he will still be a solid rusher and a low end RB1, but in no way does he have top 7 potential again.

2.) D’Andre Swift
D’Andre Swift may be in the best offensive system in the entire NFL but he cannot maintain his healthy and will have to fight for carries with Rashaad Penny, who has a better skill set. Swift is going as the RB24, higher than Penny, when Penny is better and Swift cannot stay healthy. IF you plan on drafting an Eagles RB do not draft Swift as he is inconsistent and can’t be relied on if fantasy. As you high end RB2 draft someone like Rachaad White instead, who is clearly the lead back in his offense with a garbage QB. He will dominate in fantasy, but Swift definitely won’t, do not draft Swift.
3.) Miles Sanders
Similar to where D’Andre Swift is Miles Sanders was super successful in that Eagles offense. He finished as a top 5 rusher in the NFL and he also finished as the RB10 in fantasy. However, Sanders was playing in one of the easiest systems in the NFL, behind the best offensive line in the league. This year, that is definitely not that case in Carolina this year. With a rookie QB and a below average WR core, RB Miles Sanders is going to be a “bell cow back” and carry a heavy work load. However, he isn’t capable of carrying this workload as he is a below average back, the only reason he was able to be one of the best in the league last year was because of the system he was in. He definitely will not be that good this year and he is not worth the draft pick, as he is going as the RB20.
