“Why Do I Give a F**k?”: Former NBA Star Gilbert Arenas Launches Scathing Attack on Shaquille O’Neal Over Kobe Bryant Feud
One of the most diligent NBA players in history is Kobe Bryant. Throughout his whole career, the guy had one and only one goal in mind: to win games and titles. But if there was anything he regretted, it was that others didn’t put in as much effort as he did. Even though he has received harsh criticism, he has criticized Shaquille O’Neal for being lethargic. Gilbert Arenas, though, is the only one who has indirectly endorsed him. Former athletes like criticizing current stars.
The basic theme remains constant: idealizing the past at the expense of the present NBA. However, the rose-colored lenses that the majority of former basketball players and analysts wear don’t alter the truth of their professional histories.
Gilbert Arenas hints at Kobe Bryant’s statement on Shaq
Following his retirement, Kobe Bryant gained notoriety for criticizing Shaquille O’Neal for being sluggish. If Shaq had possessed his work ethic, according to him, he would have been the best in the world.
Gilbert Arenas said: “When you see the great Kobe and how he work, right? Everyone who he clashed with are just lazy people. They were just lazy. Like, how can you really be mad, as a hooper, if a man says, ‘You supposed to be the best ever! You supposed to be the beer ever? You lazy as hell! Yeah, you averaged 20 or something because you’re god gifted, but you have no work ethic.’ But who’s wrong here? The one who’s saying, you should be the best ever? Or the one who’s sitting there saying, ‘I’m already averaging 30. Why do I give a f**k?’”
Ex-stars frequently make the same claim: whatever players now are doing, we weren’t doing it back then, whether they are criticizing guys using more and more control that results from player empowerment or the on-court behavior. However, in this case, I can only think of one individual. The person Kobe thinks may have helped him win 12 rings.
