San Francisco 49ers’ Trey Lance Fantasy: QB NFL Data & Stats Speculations 2022
Player Outlook
The San Francisco 49ers selected Trey Lance third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. While Jimmy Garoppolo provided him with most of the opportunities in 2021, teams like to see their first-round quarterbacks perform soon.
Due to his athleticism and the weapons, the 49ers have surrounded him with, Trey Lance has a top-five upside. If he improves as a passer this offseason as well, the top five rankings may be undervaluing him. Lance needs more work reading defenses since he will be tested as a passer at the next level.

His objective is to defeat coverage with his deep throw ability since his readings will prompt blitzes before a wide receiver breaks loose over the long field.

Fantasy PPR Ranking: 102.7
Fantasy Points: 297.97
If Trey Lance is your starting quarterback in a league with only one quarterback, concerns about his floor make your backup quarterback more crucial. Lance played in six games with two starts during his debut NFL season, therefore the sample size is not very large.

The 49ers’ performance as a team would be best served if their quarterback was mobile and capable of making plays when things went wrong. Lance entered the NFL with only one season of starting experience in the NCAA. He passed for 2,786 yards and 28 touchdowns while throwing no interceptions in his second season.

Trey Lance has the potential to be an interesting fantasy player and, in standard formats, should be regarded as the mid- to high-end No. 2 quarterback.
