How Did Brad Stevens Responded On Racism And Kyrie Irving?
Kyrie Irving is ready to play in Boston after almost two years.
We all know that Kyrie Irving is a former Boston Celtics player. He has been picked by Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2019. After coming to the Nets, Kyrie has not experienced any game in Boston. But the coming Friday it is Celtics vs Nets game 3 which will be played in Boston. When it was asked Kyrie about his feelings regarding playing in Boston, Irving lashed out about racism.
Kyrie Irving discusses returning to Boston for the first time in front of a crowd since his departure from the Celtics:
“Hopefully we can just keep it strictly basketball. There’s no belligerence or any racism going on, subtle racism or people yelling s— from the crowd” pic.twitter.com/Cm4jk0ZDOQ

I know this is something we all never expected from this man. However, racism is a harsh experience of life and maybe Kyrie Irving had an encounter in past. He said that he will only be focusing on his game and will play basketball. That’s something understandable but what he said next blew out many minds. Kyrie brought the issue of racism and the shit-talking crowd of Boston. Whereas, he hopes to keep it just basketball.
Kyrie Irving talks about the reception he got in Boston:
"It's basketball. I've been in a few environments in my life. As long as it's just strictly the nature of basketball out there and nothing extra I'm cool with it" pic.twitter.com/VsxzGXpSYi

Brad Stevens supports Kyrie Irving and is strictly against racism.
Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens was asked about Kyrie Irving the past Wednesday. Stevens knows Irving as he spent some time with him. However, his response was formal like any other coach. He pointed out the Boston Celtics and NBA are very strict about racism thing. Considering the recent incidents of Trae Young and Ja Morant, nothing like that can be tolerated.
Discrimination on any basis is not good. Here, we are talking about NBA and sports, which is not specific to any single country. However, Kyrie Irving put out a really significant issue. Racism is something that can never be tolerated, no matter who does it. I hope Boston’s fans are wiser than that of Utah Jazz. After a 3-0 win against the Celtics, I don’t think Kyrie Irving is going to stop even if people will talk shit about him.
