2023 Fantasy Football 12 Team PPR Mock Draft From 1.11

In this fantasy football mock draft, we tried to focus on staying away from wide receivers early to see how elite of a WR room we could build, as well as how our RB core would mold in the later rounds. I wanted to pick later in draft as I prefer to pick at the start or end of draft to get the bend, opposed to drafting in the middle of rounds. Lets check out how the team turned out:

First Round: WR Ceedee Lamb

Ceedee Lamb is the WR6 In fantasy and I was able to grab him as the 6th WR of the board which is the proper value. Lamb is in a good system where he is clearly the Wide receiver 1 and i expect him to be product again this year and he has to potential to finish within the top 5 fantasy football WRs again like he did in 2022.

Second Round: WR AJ Brown

Again veering away from drafting running backs in the first few rounds and this time we take AJ Brown who finished as the WR6 last year and has a ADP of the WR5 in fantasy football this year. Personally, it think from drafting at the 1.11 getting the 5th and 6th best ADP valued WRs is a steal. Brown is good after the catch, comes down with contested carches and is everything you want in a productive fantasy WR. He is the number one option in this offense and I don’t expect that to change this year as he is going to have another massive season.

Third Round: WR DK Metcalf

Yes, I went with another wide receiver in the third round. Yes, the options around EK have gotten better. However, Metcalf’s skill set remains the same, he is physical, good hands, a route technician, and overall just a fantastic ballplayer. Last year he finished as the WR16 and in my draft I got him as the 16th best wide receiver, that is pretty good value to me.

Fourth Round: WR Deebo Samuel
Samuel may have not had the best year last year, but this year he is back in shape and he’s ready to be better than ever. There are a lot of weapons surrounding Samuel, Kittle, Aiyuk, and McCaffrey but Deebo will still in brace that wide back position and he’s going to be productive once again in 2023. In 2021 49ers use Deebo in every single way possible and I expect him to do the exact same thing in 2023 despite having this new generation of talent on their roster. Expect a Deebo bounce back year in 2023 and that is exactly why I drafted him in fantasy football to be my wide receiver four.

Fifth Round: RB Cam Akers

In the fifth round I took my first running back, Cam Akers. Akers has dealt with his injuries throughout most of his NFL career but if he can stay healthy this year I am expecting a breakout year from him. The Rams have already come out and said they are going to use Akers excessively.

Sixth Round: RB Rachaad White

White Showed a lot of promise last year and i expect the Bucs to use him a lot more this year given that they are going to have the worst starting QB in the NFL playing for them all season along. The 6th Round is also solid value for White given his high ceiling.

Seventh Round: RB AJ Dillion

Dillion is The RB2 in this offense but they don’t call him Quadzilla for nothing, He always leads the packers in red zone carries and I expect a higher work load with the departure of Aaron Rodgers. Look out for a big year from AJ Dillion in 2023.

Eighth Round: RB Rashaad Penny

I have now completed my RB core with 4 running backs in the Mid-tier with solid upside. Penny may not be the RB1 in his offense but he will most likely be splitting carries with D’Andre Swift. Swift is very injury prone and if he goes down, then it is a next man up situation for Penny, where i do expect him to strive behind a dominate Eagles offensive line.

Ninth Round: QB Geno Smith

My Favorite pick of the draft, Geno Smith finished as the QB5 in 2022 and his situation has only gotten better with the Addition of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. getting him in the 9th round his a steal with his upside. He will once again be productive for the Seahawks and lead them to the playoffs.

Tenth Round: TE Dalton Schultz

Dalton Schultz just signed with the Texans in free agency, and if you look at the Texans offensive firepower, it is very weak. No solid options on the outside, meaning a heavy workload for Dalton Schultz. I expect a lot of play action in the Texans offense due to the Solid run game, solid pass protection and a dominate tight end like Schultz.

11th: WR Rashod Bateman
12th: QB Jared Goff
13th: TE Sam LaPorta
14th: K Jake Moody
