2021 NFL Training Camp: Top 9 Surprise Trades For Summer
Changes that can occur in the 2021 NFL training camp.
We all are desperately waiting for the NFL season to start. Some of them are requesting the officials to start the training camp earlier than scheduled as NBA season is about to end. The feel and the thrill about the quarterbacks, tight ends and every other player are at their peak. This time when most of the teams are already done with the changes, some can still go for an emergency call.
Top 9 trade candidates for the 2021 NFL training camp
Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers
- CMP% – 70.7
- Yards – 4299
- TD – 48
This off-season, the Packers offered Aaron Rodgers a two-year contract extension that would have tied him to Green Bay for five more seasons and made him the highest-paid QB and player in football.
Rodgers declined the offer, proof it’s not about the money.

First on the list of 2021 NFL training camp surprise trade candidates is Green Bay Packers dramatic quarterback star, Aaron Rodgers. It has already been confirmed that Rodgers is not happy with the Packers front office. According to sources, he also declined the two-year extension contract that the Packers offered him in the offseason. Amid the chaos, Rodgers trade will be the biggest surprise for the Packers.
Melvin Gordon – Denver Broncos
- ATT – 215
- Yards – 989
- TD – 9
If I'm George Paton, I'm offering Melvin Gordon to the Rams.

Denver Broncos are under new management now. The team added Javonte Williams and Mike Boone. Also, it looks like George Paton has soft spot for Williams. His power, aggressiveness and three-down capabilities are incredible. Keeping that in mind we can surely say that the Broncos will free off a $6.9 million cap and who else is to be traded than Melvin Gordon.
Allen Robinson – Chicago Bears
- REC – 102
- REC Yards – 1250
- Rec TD – 6
According to several sources, none of the parties is looking for an extension this season. As a franchise-tagged player receiver A-Rob is left with two options now – 1. To sign a long term deal with the Bears, or 2. Play 2021 under the tag. Well, it is more or less confirmed there Robinson will go for the second option only. I believe in the strong rumors about the Allen Robinson trade and I think it will probably happen in the 2021 NFL training camp.
Connor McGovern – New York Jets
New York Jets has the new and hyped quarterback Zach Wilson. Although his mom is more famous than him, let us stick with the NFL here. Also, the Jets team is loaded with Alijag Vera Tucker and Dan Feeney. There were heavy rumors about the Cowboys and McGovern trade. This will also come as a surprise because the Jets can recoup around $8 million from this trade.
Robert Quinn – Chicago Bears
Robert Quinn turned out to be the greatest disappointment for the Bears the last season. I think it’s time that the Bears would try to free off a ton of cap by trading Quinn. It will probably give them around $11.6 million right away.
Stephon Gilmore – New England Patriots
Stephon Gilmore was in every NFL speculation in the offseason. Whereas no trade has been made to date. Gilmore has seen a lot of games with the Patriots but he is looking for an upsurge now. I don’t think that he will be playing in 2021 with a base salary of $7 million only. However, it looks like Bill Belichick is not in a mood to pay Gilmore. This will surely turn into another 2021 NFL training camp trade.
Marcus Maye – New York Jets
Marcus Maye failed to sign an extension with the Jets and now the extension deadline has passed. That means he will be playing on the franchise tag in 2021 and clearly, someone like Maye doesn’t want that. Also, Joe Douglas is not interested in paying a huge amount for the position of safeties. He will save an instant $10.6 million by trading the defensive back.

The main reason for the possibility of this deal is the change in leadership. I think that the new leaders are looking for a fresh start and to do so they will offload the team first then acquire new assets. The player who is on the top of the trade list is cornerback Bradley Roby. Based on the Texans relationship with the team I think this deal will be another on the list of the 2021 NFL training camp trade.
Jabrill Peppers – New York Giants
Jabrill Peppers has played 26 games and started 25 in the last two seasons with 91 tackles. However, the Giants have already invested plenty of amount in safeties and that makes it hard to extend the deal with this man. Peppers will be hitting free agency in 2022 and that makes him an ideal trade candidate in the 2021 NFL training camp this summer.
