Padres LHP Strahm to undergo knee surgery

San Diego Padres left-hander Matt Strahm is slated to undergo knee surgery to repair the patellar tendon in his right knee. Strahm experienced issues with the knee during a season in which he went 0-1 with a 2.61 ERA in 19 relief appearances. Strahm, who turns 29 on Nov. 12, is expected to be recovered prior to the start of spring training. Strahm underwent a similar surgery on his left knee in 2017 when he was a member of the Kansas City Royals. That surgery occurred in July and ended Strahm's season. Strahm has a 13-23 record and 3.69 ERA in 151 career appearances (24 starts) with the Royals (2016-17) and Padres. --Field Level Media
