Duane Brown Activated From Injured Reserve

The New York Jets have activated offensive tackle Duane Brown from Injured Reserve ahead of the team's Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The veteran is yet to suit up in the 2022 regular season after suffering a shoulder injury in early September, but has practiced all week and will make his Jets debut on Sunday. Brown figures to be a key piece of New York's offensive line going forward as the 37-year-old was still a Pro Bowler just last season. This figures to be an upgrade for quarterback Zach Wilson as well as running backs Breece Hall and Michael Carter.

Duane Brown Placed On Injured Reserve

New York Jets tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) landed on injured reserve on Saturday. He had already been ruled out for Week 1, so the latest update means he'll be out for at least three more games. The veteran signed with the team during the offseason after Mekhi Becton (knee) was lost for the year, so obviously, it's a tough blow. George Fant is expected to slide back over to fill the void. Nevertheless, it's not an ideal situation for an already hobbled Jets offensive line responsible for keeping aging quarterback Joe Flacco upright against the Ravens.

Duane Brown Ruled Out For Week 1

New York Jets offensive tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) has been ruled out for the Week 1 regular season opener this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens due to a shoulder injury. The Jets aren't ruling out the idea that he will ultimately have to go on Injured Reserve. Gang Green's offensive line will now be without two of their starting tackles to kick off the 2022 regular season, on top of the fact that veteran backup quarterback Joe Flacco is getting the start under center. The Ravens defense is licking their chops, and they'll be a popular streaming choice for fantasy managers in Week 1. If Brown is placed on IR, he'd be forced to miss at least the first four games of the season. George Fant is expected to start at left tackle, with Max Mitchell on the right side.
