Ian Book Lands With Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles claimed quarterback Ian Book off waivers from the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday. The Saints waived Book on roster cutdown day on Tuesday, but he'll resurface quickly in Philadelphia. The 24-year-old fourth-round pick went 12-for-20 for 135 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in a 20-3 loss to the Miami Dolphins in 2021 in the only start of his rookie campaign. With the Eagles, he'll serve as the No. 3 signal-caller behind starter Jalen Hurts and backup Gardner Minshew.

The New Orleans Saints released quarterback Ian Book on Tuesday, according to a source. Book will be a practice-squad target if he clears waivers. In the team's preseason finale last Friday against the Los Angeles Chargers, the 24-year-old went 11-for-15 for 81 yards and a touchdown, also adding a 50-yard run. The Saints will roll with starter Jameis Winston and backup Andy Dalton into Week 1 of the regular season, and Book would be the third option if he rejoins the team.
