  Tony Jones Jr. Waived By The Seahawks

  The Seattle Seahawks waived running back Tony Jones Jr. on Wednesday. The Seahawks signed defensive tackle Daviyon Nixon in a corresponding move. Jones was claimed off waivers from the Saints by the Seahawks in October. The 25-year-old rushed for 16 yards on eight attempts across four games for the Seahawks in 2022. The Seahawks waived Jones despite DeeJay Dallas (ankle) and Kenneth Walker III (ankle) dealing with injuries, while Travis Homer is currently Seattle's only healthy running back. Jones will look to latch onto another team in need of running back depth.

  Seahawks Claim Tony Jones Jr. Off Waivers

  The Seattle Seahawks claimed former New Orleans Saints running back Tony Jones Jr. off waivers on Monday with Rashaad Penny (leg) now done for the rest of the season, according to a source. Jones will provide depth in the running back room in Seattle behind rookie Kenneth Walker III and DeeJay Dallas with Travis Homer (ribs) still on Injured Reserve. In two games with the Saints this year, Jones had just two carries for eight yards and caught both of his targets in the passing game for 12 yards. The 24-year-old is strictly depth for the Seahawks and can continue to be ignored in fantasy leagues, even with Penny done for the year.

  Tony Jones Jr. Waived By Saints

  The New Orleans Saints waived running back Tony Jones Jr. on Saturday. The 24-year-old appeared in just two games this season and was a healthy scratch in Weeks 3 and 4. The Saints will move forward with Alvin Kamara (ribs), Mark Ingram, and Dwayne Washington as their rostered backs, but could look to sign Jones to their practice squad if he clears waivers.
