The 26-year-old's fantasy value probably takes a hit with running back Christian McCaffrey now in town, but the main focus for fantasy managers right now is on his health. If Samuel needs more time to heal up and can't play this weekend, Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, Ray-Ray McCloud III and perhaps even rookie Danny Gray would have bigger roles in the passing attack.

He was dealing with a bone bruise behind his knee and returned to practice on Monday with no limitations. The 26-year-old will be all systems go against the Chicago Bears in Week 1. He broke out last season under "the wide back" role with 77 catches, 1,405 yards, and six touchdowns while rushing for 365 yards on 59 attempts and eight scores across 16 games. Samuel is a borderline WR1 and should be started in all league formats for the season opener against Chicago.
